So my grand aspirations of posting
daily throughout my internship didn't turn out so well. Such is life.Starting
after Christmas, however, I will be beginning a new placement and I
am going to strive to keep track of this half of the year better.
I said goodbye to my sweet 8th graders and am mentally preparing
myself for 11th graders. I have a sneaking suspicion that there is going to be
a dramatic difference
between the two.
The great news is that I get to
teach some amazing classes. I’ll be teaching College Prep American Literature,
Creative Writing, and Literature and Film. I don’t think it gets better than
that. I’ve been pouring through the textbook, excitedly picking out the stories
and poems that I will teach. “Yellow Wallpaper,” how I can’t wait to teach you!
Perhaps I will creep around the room as we read you. ee cummings, I’m going to
teach you like you’ve never been taught before.
I have been busy, busy, busy
wrapping up school and my semester with my 8th graders. However, I have
had some time to put together my very own Teachers Pay Teachers page. I absolutely
LOVE this website and I use it for inspiration all the time, so it was just a
matter of time before I created one of my very own. Right now I have a lesson
for Bridge to Terabithia that is
pretty great, if I do say so myself.
It’s fun, it’s common core aligned, and best
of all…. it’s free!
